In 1998 Jamie Dailey was hired by Doyle Lawson and Quicksilver as an upright bass player, lead, tenor and baritone singer. In 2001 Jamie moved to the guitar. Jamie's lead and high tenor vocal along with his gregarious stage presence became a trademark for the group. Jamie recorded nine records with Doyle Lawson and Quicksilver, Winding Through Life, Just Over In Heaven, Gospel Parade, Hard Game of Love, Thank God, You Gotta Dig A Little Deeper, He Lives In Me, More Behind the Picture Than The Wall and School of Bluegrass. Jamie was also on Doyle Lawson and Quicksilver's 25 year reunion DVD and 5 Gaither Homecoming DVD's. During Jamie's nine year tenure with the band they won 13 IBMA awards including Vocal Group of the Year six consecutive times 2001-2007 along with Song of the Year "Blue Train" which featured Dailey's high tenor and lead vocal. The group also garnered 4 grammy nominations during Dailey's stay with the group and several Dove nominations. Jamie also served as the groups first road manager. Jamie departed Doyle Lawson and Quicksilver in August 2007 to start Dailey and Vincent with long time friend and colleague Darrin Vincent.

Jamie has also recorded with other artist including, Rhonda Vincent on the song "Kentucky Borderline" Song of the Year at IBMA in 2005. Jamie sang back up vocals on Christmas Grass vol. 2 2004 with Dolly Parton. In 2005 Jamie was a guest on Ricky Skaggs Grammy Award winning "Brand New Strings" album. Jamie sang tenor on the song "Enjoy the Ride".

In 2005 Jamie was handpicked by U.S. Ambassador Faith Whittlesey to represent the United States of America in Switzerland as a Young Leader of America. The purpose of the trip was to meet with other Young Leaders from Switzerland and the U.S. along with Heads of State to discuss U.S. and Swiss relations and to try and strengthen the friendship between these two nations. At the end of the trip Jamie sang solo for the Gala Dinner which was a major success, "We now call him The Bluegrass Ambassador" says Ambassador Whittlesey. Jamie has also made solo appearances at the Swiss Embassy in N.Y.C for Swiss Ambassador Raymond Loretan. In August 2007 Jamie once again attended another Young Leaders of America trip to Germany where they toured the country, Berlin, Munich and Leipzig.
